Just Be

I sometimes feel that many of us try to hard to prove what we are. To prove that we are a somebody. We feel that letting our light shine is us knowing all the answers. Walking around as if we are unscathed from life's dilemmas. That we aren't flawed. But the truth is in all honesty, the more real you are, the more people can relate to you. When you place forth true genuine effort to be all that you can be it resonates with people. This may seem odd but one of my favorite moments from Jesus comes a passage in Mark 11:12-14. This moment shows a hungry Jesus leaving Bethany and his eyes spotted a fig tree. Jesus than goes up to the tree, and sees that it has nothing but leaves. Than he says " May no one ever eat fruit from you again."Now you're probably what does this have to do with anything? I don't really see the point you are trying to gather. From my personal perspective, it drives home two things. One this moment is absolutely hilarious. I mean Jesus was so hungry and upset that he told the tree "No more growth for you" Lol. But in a more serious context, it helped make Jesus more human for me. I was able to see Jesus as not just the son of God, but as the man. I was able to see that even in all his greatness and glory, he had moments of human moments like hunger. It was now easier to see myself in the reflection of Jesus. His hunger was a message in which I could empathize. A normal moment had a very profound impact on my life. Don't ever flaunt the way you live to try to convince other to do the same. Be mindful that for many people you are an example. But in all things you strive to follow the example of Christ. (Ephesians 5:1) Allow your presentation to be one that is original and organic. Not one that is fabricated and shaped in vanity. Just Be.
